New members in our family

Yesterday, Easter... for normal people, it's Rabbit, Eggs, chocolate, etc..
For us, not the same pattern ; the cat we found a few months ago, Cannelle had 4 little babies.  After 2 hours, she looked like she was having some problems with the last one, the little fourth was born but with difficulties.
I helped her a little and finally the last one was alive and healthy.

Just after supper, Candy, the bird, was on Alain's shoulder and something in her behavior looked not normal ; she was very nervous, and suddenly she laid an egg on his shoulder.

And it's not done, because of the busy day, we decided to eat something quick in case Cannelle needed more help.... the microwave broke down... change of plans... guess supper had to be a bit slower than expected.

Yes I'm talking about Easter Day...only.....

I will add few pictures of the little ones.  They are very cute...
And Cannelle is a real good mother for them.

I'm pleased to present you my new creation : Pandy.
She has been created and designed by me : Chantal Giroux
Created from a soft mohair yarn.
Standing just over 4 - 10 cm tall.

Her face is finished with handpainted gentle shadings.

She has black eyes.

She is 5 way jointed.
Firmly stuffed with premium polyfiberfill.
She wears a lovely dress.
Her legs have been weighted by adding polymer clay soles. (New !!!)

Ebooklet pulled from the market

I have to pull the Ebooklet from the market because of people misunderstanding the idea of the booklet ; they wanted a pattern included in it; however, because the technique is available for all types of teddy bears in thread,yarn, knitted or crochet, I did not add a specific pattern which was well explained in the item description. People could used it on other patterns from other artists but it looks like the new idea was not understood by some....

I plan to add the personal technique in the book I'm writing now that will most likely be published next year where it will include patterns and "how to".

I'm feeling sorry for that, but I had to take this decision to avoid further problems which are taking time from my beloved teddy bears and eating up the much needed time for the book. If you are still interested to buy the "how to" ... of course NOT including the pattern please feel free to contact me.

Picture I like a lot

Yesterday, I was preparing the teddy bear "Love" for a long travel, by airmail.... to Europe.....and Alain decided to take pictures.  On my right shoulder I had my bird, Candy and the left shoulder, the teddy bear.

A new Teddy Bear : LOVE

I'm proud to present you, Love, my new creation :

Created with a soft blue grey and white long pile faux-fur .
Standing just over 12 inches - 30 cm tall.
Her face is finished with handpainted gentle shadings.
She has handpainted glass eyes with blue and green sparkles.
She is 5 way jointed.
Firmly stuffed with premium polyfiberfill. Love has two organza bows on her head and a collar around her neck
Her legs have been weighted with glass beads.
Her arms has been wired and she can take the position you will give her.

A New Epattern released today

I received a large request from people asking me how I could give personality to my teddy bears....
Finally, I wrote a new booklet containing 14 pages and 36 pictures showing "how to"
I hope that little booklet will help a lot of people making teddy bears !!!!!

Brittany arrived home, yesterday

Brittany, my teddy bear arrived home yesterday ; for the story, we went to Moncton, to deliver her to her new Mom... She was not at her office, so we let the bear in her office...

Here is what she wrote, when she met her for the first time....
"Hi Chantal,

She is beautiful.. so elegant and just what I was hoping for. I hope she has it for a lifetime and hands it down to her children, and their children afterwards."

If I understand very well, my little Brittany will become a family treasure.....

She is born on January 24th

Brittany is born ; I like her a lot, difficult however for an artist to like her work... but this one.... it took 2 weeks ..but the result is so good.
Brittany is a commission for a bithday gift..
Here the pictures, I took today ; tomorrow I will have more, but they are on my husband camera...

I'm working on a larger teddy bear for a commission. Here are the first pictures.
The head is not completed, I need to make the muzzle and place the ears.
The body is done and a first leg. I painted the shadows of a face and the foot pad.
Now, back to work .....
